David Mazanec
Double Bass

David Mazanec, Principal Bass, was raised in St. Louis, Mo. While a student, he was soloist with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin.

Mr. Mazanec has been with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra since 1972. He has served as principal bass in the St. Louis Mury Opera, St. Louis Opera Theatre, Tuscaloosa Symphony and the New Hampshire Music Festival. Mr. Mazanec has performed as a soloist in works by Dragonetti, Mozart, and Kovsivetsky and has also been soloist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony.

Mr. Mazanec is visiting Professor of Bass at the University of Alabama.
