Kristi Tingle Higginbotham

Kristi is thrilled to be performing with the Alabama Symphony in this concert version of Carousel.

Kristi has made orchestra appearances with the Arkansas Symphony, the Winnipeg Symphony in Canada, the Brevard Orchestra in Florida, the Kingsport Symphony in Tennessee, the Acadiana Symphony in Louisiana, and the Lake Forest Orchestra in Chicago. She has also performed at the Lucius Woods Music Festival in Wisconsin.

Locally, Kristi is a regular on the musical theater stage performing with the former Town and Gown Theatre in a number of leading roles, including Gypsy, Evita, Camelot and Cabaret, to name a few. With Birmingham's Summerfest, she has starred in The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz, Showboat and The Sound of Music. At Summerfest's new cabaret theater, she's performed in All Night Strut, The World Goes Round, Jerry's Girls, My Way and Moon River.

Most recently Kristi originated a one woman revue - A Sentimental Journey: The Rosemary Clooney Songbook, written for Kristi by Broadway veteran Abe Reybold and Birmingham musical director Michael King. The live CD is available by calling Birmingham Sumemrfest. All proceeds from the recording benefit Summerfest's musical theater educational program.

Kristi is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. A private vocal coach, she resides in Birmingham with her husband David and five-year-old son Clay.
